This year we put the procession in Advent Procession!

We marked the beginning of Advent with a special service combining powerful music sung by the Cathedral Choir and Bible readings reminding us to keep awake for the coming of Christ at Christmas.

With the symbol of light in the darkness we journeyed through the building under the glow of candlelight moving from West to East, concluding with a spectacular procession of the whole congregation through to the crossing, with a stunning backdrop of the saints in colour and clouds of incense, accompanied by the dramatic Langlais Sanctus. Our grateful thanks to all those involved in helping to produce a great service.

The collection from the Advent Procession supports the St Albans Cathedral Music Trust. Music Trust patrons were in attendance and had their annual gathering and dinner following the service.
