This weekend we were delighted to welcome the choir of Grace Church Cathedral Charleston, South Carolina to St Albans Cathedral to sing our choral services whilst the Cathedral Choir is on summer break.

The choir sang for two Choral Evensong services on Saturday and Sunday and Choral Matins on Sunday morning. Repertoire included music by Howells, Stanford, and Malcom Boyle’s ‘Thou, O God art praised in Sion’.

We were glad to welcome their Dean The Very Rev'd J. Michael A. Wright who was accompanying the choir; and it was a joy to spend time with our visitors over drinks in Cathedral House on Saturday evening.  

We were richly blessed by the gift of their music and wish them well as they journey on to Lincoln cathedral this week.
