Learning Adult Learning Voices of Love and Fire: Medieval Women Mystics and the Experience of God (SACT & SACT+) What does it mean not just to believe in God, but to encounter him in prayer, in suffering, in love, and in the whole of life? This course explores the rich and often surprising world of medieval mystical theology through the writings of remarkable women including Julian of Norwich, Margery Kempe, Hildegard of Bingen, and Catherine of Siena. From Julian’s vision of divine love, to Margery’s deeply embodied spirituality, to Hildegard’s cosmic imagination, and Catherine’s passionate call to renewal, we will encounter a Christianity that engages the whole person, mind, body, and soul. Blending theology, history, and spiritual reflection, the course invites you not only to discover these extraordinary voices, but to consider how their insights might deepen your own prayer and discipleship today. This course can be taken as part of the Certificate in Theology. Please note you can enjoy the course without doing an essay for SACT.
